Tomorrow, Saturday, is the biggest night in a high schoolers life.
Thats right. Tomorrow, is Prom.
This has lead to some insane asking stratagies (including a 10 ft by 10 ft poster hanging off of the school), as well as some entertaining yes/no stratagies (Elvis impersonator. no, im not kidding)
However, those of you who were reading at this time last year, might recall that i got asked to prom last year.
By a student.
And then his mother wanted me to go with him, to supervise.
This year?
Same kid.
So far, I have been stopped THREE SEPERATE times by three different people (the principal, another teacher, and a parent), asking me if this kid should be allowed to go to the after prom thing.
well, why shouldnt he?
Well..they have a mechanical bull.
Wha?
And plastic inflatable sumo wrestler suits..and they are worried he could get hurt.
And yet, no one has managed to tell me why this is my problem.
Im not supervising. Im not chaperoning. The afterprom thing starts at midnight, and goes til FOUR IN THE MORNING. you bet your sweet bippy im not going, i like sleep!
Look, chances are, Mommy isnt going to let him go anyway, because good grief is that late. why dont YOU call mom, and tell her what all goes on at thing, and then SHE can decide? Why are you bothering ME about it?!
*headdesk*
my favorite comment was from one of the parent chaperons: Well, i guess he can come..”
Thanks! Because, you know, its not like he is a student here or anything. somehow, i was under the impression, this was for STUDENTS.
